End of year

It has been a long time since i updated my blog.. I am too busy to do so la.. So pardon me k?? I know there has been a big change in my life and i am happy with the change.. Hee hee.. Let's hope for the best~

This is the 7th week and soon the exams are coming next week.. I am keeping my fingers crossed for them.. I hope they will be able to pull up their socks and do their best.. Esp my P5s.. They are darlings but not very hardworking.. I am praying very hard for them..

Hols are coming and I wont be gg to Vn this time round as the air tix are sky high! I check in sep and it's ard 290 plus.. But in the beginning of oct, it shot up to ard 400 bucks! Wah.. VN really hot lor.. So no choice, we have to settle for Phuket... Heard that the beaches are beautiful.. Hmm.. I hope so lor.. Ppl also say Krabi's beach are beautiful.. But that's provided u rent a boat out.. Hee..

Kuantan Trip

This wasn't exactly the trip that i was looking forward to but i had to go cuz i am in the school's staff welfare committee.. Heehee.. Kinda forced to go.. But the resort is not bad though.. Hmm.. But the driver/tourguide is really blur.. First he got lost, then he din book restaurant for dinner.. Haiz.. I really dun know wat to say.. But anyway, i finished marking a stack of compo with joan.. Haha.. Cuz we presume we would be better off at the resort and fortunately we din follow the group as they went on a merry-go-round and none of the itinerary was followed.. Chey!

The BEST gift..

For a teacher, the best gift is not how expensive it is.. It's seeing and knowing that the pupil under you had changed for the better.. THat's the most wonderful gift a teacher can receive and the main reason why i am still in this line..

This year teacher's day, i receive a card from Jaime Ch'ng. She had been in my class since last year.. She had always been a pain in the neck and she is very difficult to handle in the class.. This year, i was so fed up with her till i ended up crying when i am in the staff room.. I felt very helpless.. But i know she is a child who needs help..
Fortunately, i send her for counselling with Michelle.. Mich suspected tat she had very low self-esteem and that's why she reacts that way.. And that was an "ah-ha" moment for me! Esp after i read a book, the case study is simply the case of Jaime!! It was god-sent! It's a wake up call for me.. And luckily, Jaime decided to work hard to be a better person..
Oh.. back to the card she made, she wrote a poem in it..
She dedicated it to a very special teacher (but she spelt my surname wrongly..)

This is a high calling.. But guess i just have to try my best.. Able to change a life, that's not wat everyone can do.. Hee hee..

Teacher's Day

Tmr is Teacher's Day le! Yippee.. Happy not because got presents! It's cuz it's the last day of Term 3!! Yeah!!! 1 week of hols.. Can take a rest.. Really need the break..
There's a lot of things to do for the sep hols.. I really wonder if i've got the time to finish or not.. Hee hee.. If i had known earlier that i will be so busy, i would not have agreed to gg to Kuantan.. Waste of time and money.. Sad.. Haiz..
But on the positive side, at least i can be out of the country la.. Better dun complain..

Hee.. After term 3, term4 will come soon and it'll be the EOY HolS!!

One of the best show i watched this year.. I dun know why.. Maybe it kinda close to my heart.. Of cuz, i think Hokkien songs are real nice, though sometimes i find them quite "song".. Hee hee.. But when Chen Weilian and Liu Lingling sings, i cried.. Esp WL, his voice is filled with emotions and i will get drawn into his voice and really feel darn sad..

I cried so badly when one of the lead actress sang a song to her mum.. I thot of my mum and I just broke down.. Sorry ah, i guessed i wet your sleeves quite badly.. hee hee...

However, there are a few parts where i find it quite exaggerating and non-understandable.. Hmm..

Strawberry Cheesecake!

My 2nd attempt at cheesecake is the Strawberry Cheesecake.. Hmmm.. 卖相不好，但味道不错。 Cuz i poured the jelly portion when it has not totally cooled.. It seeped to the bottom and the cheese floated to the top.. In the end, my straberries were floating all over.. Hee hee..

My sis says it tasted better on the 2nd day.. Sh said ok.. My colleagues are the more encouraging ones.. Sharon, Joan, SW, CH, Maria all said it's nice.. and they say it doesn't look as disgusting as how i described it..

Till next time, i will perfect the Strawberry Cheesecake before trying out other things.. Hee hee..

My Cheesecakes!

SOBBIE! I failed in my first attempt for the Orea Cheesecake! So sad!! Bought the wrong cheese! And thus, it didn't corrugulate.. It's still slumpy after 2 days in the fridge.. Threw it away today.. Haiz..

The crust is very nice.. So i din dump it..
Looks good?? But too bad..

Sh even said it blended in with my table top! ARGH!

But nvm!! I will try again till I succeed! I attempted a second time today.. It's Strawberry Cheesecake! It looks kinda good now!

Sporting week!

Dun know why suddenly dear joan wanted to play badminton? Then in the end, i played badminton with joan and jo for the past 2 days on thurs and fri after school.. As i went to training last sun, my muscles were already aching and after thurs' badminton, my right hand ache even more lor.. Then on fri, KM joined us.. Hee hee.. Luckily i brought my own racket, sch's one is so heavy! We played for ard an hour before gg for yoga!!! WOWO!! Tired sia! Our muscles were already so tensed! The stretching were killing.. Maybe we should play badminton regularly hor..

After bathing in sch, Jo told me that sch's closing soon! EH?? How come??!! Of all days!?? Argh.. Had to walk out to wait for Sh lor cuz it was raining.. Haiz.. But luckily the rain stopped.. Dinner was too FILLING le lor!

After which, we were trying to find our way to OCC from Kovan.. Hmm.. But after this, i tink Sh's trust in my directions will drop again lor.. Haiz... I really didn't mean to let u do U-turn one lor!

OCC is good as there wasn't much ppl there playing pool and no smoking is great! Hee hee.. I tink I played ok la.. At least I managed to get in some balls on my own.. In the end, as the games we played were too slow for Sh, he got too tired! Ha ha.. Sorry la.. I am just a beginner leh..

OLGC Racial Harmony Day

With the last few days of preparing for the wedding gallery and the hyping up of the gals so that they will come, the day finally arrived!
I was very excited abt it coming..
1) I wanna see the reactions when they step into the wedding gallery
2) I wanted to know if this event will be a success and how much we can make for the NE gallery
3) I want to get it over and done with!
Both Mrs Gopal helped me with the Saree.. Seriously, if you think saree is easy to wear, heck! You are wrong lor! It's super difficult to wear but hey, i looked good in it! Hahaha..
As expected, the gals were so queing up for the wedding gallery and they are so willing to pay $3 for the entry.. And i loved it when one of my NE leaders said, it's the best exhibition the school ever put up.. The ppl who came in were impressed and they were so excited to see the wedding pictures of the teachers! Haha.. Their reactions is so interesting.. Wow! Happy.. (And when i shared it with the cluster schools, they were so excited abt the idea. I guess, soon, the cluster schools will have a wedding gallery too for their school events..)

Thot my gang wanted to go eat lunch together but in the end, they all went home.. So Shang and me went for a simple lunch (or tea?) at AMK..

I was so tired from the NE show on Sat and so, it was heaven sent that Shang had to work that day.. I initially wanted to go down to his workplace to meet him but he was very nice to come and fetch me!! Yippee!! Happy Sia!! Then i can do my work! I manage to clear the markings i brought home lor!

We went to Queensway first then to CSC at Bukit Batok.. (I can't imagine myself taking the bus and mrt there lor.. So darn far..)

It was really a good gathering, cuz alot of seniors and juniors came.. We had a good time catching up and all.. And of cuz, with Ice, Judy and myself, we were very busy taking pics.. Haha.. (Ice haven't sent me the pics lor! So only got my personal pics..)

I really missed the poly days.. The training days are always very fun and filled with laughter and sweat..

NE Show 07

This year's NE Show for our school is on the 14th of July.. As usual, the P5s were super excited abt it and they couldn't stop raving abt it in and after class..

This yr's NE show is special cuz it's on the floating platform at the Marina.. Jaime, Claire, Elvina, Sony and ME! Cheeky Gals..

As i only invited the teachers who are interested to go, Karen, Anne, Nora, Liz, CH volunteered.. And on the day itself, i am glad that Karen and Anne are there as they are very experienced in giving instructions, i dun have to worry so much..

The show started and as usual, the pupils were very restless and all they did was to eat and talk excitedly.. Claire was feeding me with chicken wings and sushi.. So fortunate of her to have a mum that cares so much for her.. And of cuz, the highlight of the show is the fireworks.. I was too busy video-ing, so I didn't take a lot of pics.. That's so sad!

Went for the interview at MTS, but i was washed out la.. Ping says the competition is too stiff and i lost out cuz of my qualifications and experience..
Well, i expected it le la.. So i wasn't disappointed at all.. I am kinda surprised at my own reaction..
So now, i am wondering if i should stay put or apply for a new sch ard my area.. I really dun know.. If i apply for another one, i guess my "bosses" will be really disappointed la.. But if i dun, i really dun know if i can tahan anymore of the work here.. Haiz... Fan ah!

Productions from SG! Watched it yday in replace of Sharon who's sending her hubby off to Aussie.. But i am glad i watched it! It's so good! Esp Hossan Leong, he is so talented.. The jokes and songs were good.. They might not be the perfect singers or actresses, they might not be as good as those from overseas, but i feel that credit needs to be given to them for putting up such a fantastic show.. They re-told history of Sg in a refreshing way and yes.. poked fun at Chris Lee, raise in govt pay etc etc..

My legs are aching now lor.. Wore the heels yday cuz i thot that i dun have much periods.. Then who knows, it almost killed me when i was walking from Republic poly to the MRT station.. Really 要美不要命...
Msg Sh to meet me for a quick dinner at Suntec.. Initially wanted to see if we have the time to buy the figurines, but i was already quite late.. So no choice, gotta see it some other day.. Luckily he quite zi dong, he walked me to the esplanade and acc me till my frenz came before gg home..

One of the best movies i ever watched la... "Woo" and "wa" were coming all over the cinema... Hee.. I was very impressed with the transforming la.. And some of the conversations were very comical.. Hee.. Liked the part when the bumble bee changed into a Cher when the gal said he's an old car.. haha.. Anyway, sh said that there were modifications to the original la. But still, the CGs and the sound effects made up for it all.. And of cuz, as it is digital, it's DVD standard on a movie screen.. NICE!!

However, i must say that i have no idea wat the rest of the robots are called lor.. I was still figuring out the names of the bad and good robots (till now).. Hee hee..

I really wont mind watching it again.. Hee hee.. So anyone who is interested and no one goes with u, call me along ba!! hahaha...

Zoo With LS

ZOO Trip is finally settled! We were planning for this zoo trip since Jan or Feb i think.. But always postponed cuz of the different schedules of our very busy LS ppl.. Well, there isn't much pics of us.. Though i brought the tripod, camera and video camera..Guess i was too busy with looking at the animals so i didn't have the time to take pictures.. And hell, the day was darn HOT!! I was getting a headache on and off.. Wasn't feeling very happy abt that.. Anyway, i was quite angry in the beginning that the guys were late! Only manage to go in at 12 plus.. Haiz.. As usual, angry also like that la.. Cant stay angry with them for long one..
This is a late BD present for Chrys la.. Bought her a crumpler bag.. Hmmm.. I am so happy that she liked it very much.. Cuz initially i thought of calling her to ask if she wanted a bag.. But i was dissuaded of that la.. Good to give ppl surprises.. And I am glad that it was a PLEASANT surprise for her..

We decided to go for dinner at Woodlands as it is the central place for ppl staying in the west and northeast.. Haha.. So waited for that darn TIBS bus.. So long! Went to eat at the foodcourt.. Oh.. Must blog abt this.. I started to be very sacarstic towards ahem.. shang.. (till now, i still cant remember how this conversation start lor!)

Taiwan-HK Trip

Day 1 - Changi - HK - TPE!
We will have to transit in HK before flying to Taipei.. This is the first time i am doing a transit flight..

Day 2
Ahem.. Din really take a lot of pictures on this day.. The reason why me, a photo siao, didn't take nice shots?? Hahaha.. Ehh.. Cuz hor, there's another GREATER temptation! SHOPPING!! I spent few hours at OrangeBear with SW and then went to shop and shop at the East Metro (something like our City Link but much cheaper).. When we got back to the hotel, we were so TIRED! From the trying on of clothes.. Hahaha..

After the SPLURGE yday, today is the day of SIGHT-SEEING (just like a typical tourist)

Bought some muah chee, tie dan, gifts and the sour plums.. Wah.. I should have bought more sour plums.. It's VERY YUMMY!!

After which, we went to the Pi Xiu factory when the person starts to intro us to fengshui and the elements of our birthdays and names.. So they wanted to sell us this mystical animal that will help us in our lifes.. I kinda wanted to get it but it's darn ex lor.. But in the end, we did get 1 la.. And i tink it's the cheapest kind there.. Haha.. But still it's 80 over bucks lor.. Went to the 温泉 after that..

Day 4

We are going to Kaoshiung by train! Well, this is my second time on train le.. But at least not as long as the VN one la.. Took only ard 3-4 hrs for this.. Bought my Prince of Tennis comic (damn CHEAP ah) to spend my time on the train..

SG River beats it hands down..

Went to Dream Mall which is the largest shopping centre in Taiwan but i feel that there's nothing great there too except for the Sanrio Ferris Wheel la.. The shopping is not as great as SG and the things are not that cheap too.. Think Taipei can find cheaper stuff..

Day 5

Kaoshiung's transport system is really not good.. Buses take forever to come but the taxi will be right outside waiting for you.. Haiz.. No matter who u ask, they will tell u to take a cab... Duh.. So took cab lor..

Went to this shopping centre under the recommendation of the hotel staff.. But when we went there, haiz.. Super disappointed!! There's nothing to see one lor.. Hougang Mall also got more things to see lor!

Luckily found this street that looks like Taipei's Wu Fen Pu.. Something like our Bugis street.. A lot of small shops that sell relatively cheap things.. Bought a bag, shoes and we found a big shop that sells clothes.. Wah! I nearly spent another 100 plus there but i controlledla.. Hee.. But i should have gotten more shoes.. Haha.. But on budget la.. Wanted to go Taipei to buy more clothes.. Hee..

Day 5

We decided that we had enough of the shopping and so, we wanted to go to the famous beach of Kaoshiung.. And it's called 旗津.. It's a very nice beach.. And yes, i was super excited about the black sand.. SW says it looks like sesame paste.. Hahaha..

Oh.. This shop sells Doreamon only!!!

I think their service is really very very good lor.. They are like the Japs who bows and is so respectful towards customers.. Hmm.. And the great thing, the toilet is in the room!! Cool Siah!

Day 6

As usual, had to take a cab to the train station.. On the way, the cab driver keeps talking to us in Hokkien and we had a hard time trying to figure out wat he's talking about.. Haha.. Though my Hokkien not bad la, but still, theirs is different to our style.. So we can only "hmmm", "ya".. hee hee..

This is something like the Jap's Shinkansen..

When we reached Taipei, we went to eat the famous Ah Zhong rice noodle.. Wah! Not bad lor.. A lot of ppl and they just eat by the road.. Even if they are very well dressed.. They still eat lor.. The power of GOOD FOOD..

Another round of lsat minute shopping at the underground shopping centre.. Hmmm.. Bought books this time round.. Wah.. Cant imagine my luggage weight siah..

Me and SW went looking for this bubble tea on the last nite at Taipei.. We had a walked to and fro just to realise that it's jus a street away from our hotel.. But, it's ok! The bubble tea is real nice!!

Day 7
OOH!! We are in HK!! But i wonder why the customs stopped me and filled in a form and asked me to stay behind lor.. Think he find something wrong with my name! Haiz.. Wasted time here.. Then after that got to wait for other passengers for the bus and that took another hr and more.. Super waste of time.. The hotel room sucks.. No way am I gg to stay at Mayfair Gardens again.. Rather ask Robert to book Nathan for me next time..
But i was super excited to see Joan la.. And we went to shop ard before mtg Victor (Joan's BF) for tea.. Victor took us to the famous Roast Duck restaurant near Lan Kue Fong.. And we had roast duck and char siew..hmmm.. Yummy.. Went to KTV(AGAIN!) haha.. But i must say, HK guys sing well!! But i am horrible la.. I made him sing the cantonese songs.. Haha.. WIll get him to go and sing with us again when he comes to SG.. The Macau restaurant at Tsim Sha Tsiu is also good..

Day 8

Went to meet Joan and Victor (+ his parents) for lunch... As we were too tired, so we slept till 11 plus.. Hee.. Jus in time for lunch.. Haha.. Had good food too!! His parents really ordered ALOT of food.. And Joan told us not to bother to fight for the bill cuz we will never win.. haha.. Victor took me to find Shang's figurines but i can't find the ones he wanted.. And Joan got a flight to catch.. We had to bade farewell..

We joined a night tour for Hk and we must of cuz got to the PEAK.. But hor, the view really lost to the one i saw last year.. Hmm.. But Mdm Tussaud got new exhibits.. Leo Ku, Leon Lai and Twins..

The night scenery of HK is spectacular.. But the electricity bill?? Ahem..

Day 9

Asked robert abt the place that sells toys at wholesale prices and we went there straight to get my children's day presents... But as i cant remember exactly where, we went to the Ya Liao Street (Flea Mkt) and i got a tripod there!! For 10 bucks! With a few turns and some gut feeling, we manage to reach the clothing shop that i bought from last year.. But super ex lor.. 1 skirt ard 25 bucks.. Found the toys too! Haha.. Lucky! After getting the toys and figurines for Shang, we met up with Robert for a quick lunch.. Then we went to put our things down and went to walk ard.. Found this Kowloon Park.. It's not an ordinary park lor.. Got swimming pool hor, and there's an indoor one too.. Super big.. But the admission fee is ard 4 bucks.. Ex siah.. As we were quite confused as to which dir to turn, there's a kind (and quite cute) guy who asked us and directed us.. Hmm.. So nice of him..

Day 10
I told SW that we must go to this garden.. It's super beautiful.. But of cuz, with lots of rules and regulations, it kinda dampen my mood... Even though they did it to conserve the place.. And it's DARN HOT!!! Robert was right, dun go during summer time!







When we went back to the hotel, we had to repack our stuff as it already exceeded the weight limit.. Haha.. So I ask the cute bellboy to help us weigh our bags again.. This time round, mine was exactly 20 kg.. Hee..

This marks the end of our 10 days trip.. It was very tiring But fun.. Hee.. And of cuz, it burnt a big hole in my pocket! Ard $2700.. Hmm.. SW says can go Japan le..

P.S.: Unfortunately, the luggage that contains all the newly bought clothes are stuck at the HK airport and it will arrive 1 day late.. How unlucky! But hor, i realise can claim insurance leh! Maybe can claim 400 bucks.. If so, then it will subsidise my trip le lor!! hahaha...
